The Synchronicity of Indeterminacy photo blog is to be a synchronous experiment in creativity and indeterminacy. It will feature photos randomly found via p2p sharing programs paired with an ultra-short story inspired by the found photograph. Real lives and an imagined story will be linked by that visual image captured for all eternity. Any resemblance between fantasy and reality will be a consequence of synchronicity. The idea is based on the Indeterminacy recordings by John Cage, pairing one-minute short stories with random sounds.

“The Blind” – Sophie Calle

For The Blind Sophie Calle photographed people who are blind and asked them what their image of beauty was. In the resulting work she presents a framed black and white or color portrait of each subject (men and women of a variety of ages), a framed statement describing their idea of beauty, and one or more color photographs illustrating their description. The Blind explores the imagination and experiences of those who have never seen as interpreted by one who does see–artist Calle.

To celebrate the gift of ‘Dood archief XII’, 1981 toKU Leuven in 2009, M is presenting nine works by Denmark. The artworks critically represent the art press. Here too, an excess of information is threatening to result in blindness rather than to stimulate thought. There is a demand for liberation. Concrete archives of magazines, books or newspapers are the raw material Denmark uses to create his objects. By manipulating this resource in his very particular way, he explores the boundaries between information and knowledge, barbarism and civilisation and heteronomy and autonomy.
